Quiet Memories

The candle flickers dancing light on the ceiling

I lie here, staring…thinking

I’m lost in thoughts of what was…what might have been

Such a typical woman, I am

As I lie in the comfort of my marshmallow bed

Comfy cozy as can be

I recall your presence here

Lying beside me, in the night

Midnight entanglements that lasted till dawn

I remember your rough hands on my body

Your scent…your kiss

And I know there will never be another man

Who is worthy to lie beside me, in the night

Sharing the comfort of my marshmallow bed
